Albacare have been providing HSE First Aid at Work since 1991 and Defibrillation Training since 2003 in the heart of the Scottish central belt - Bathgate, West Lothian.
We have trained at Hampden Park our National Football Stadium, a host of Historic Locations Across Scotland, numerous Michelin Star Restaurants and Edinburgh Castle. These are just a very small number of prestigious locations we have been fortunate to have as our training rooms!
All of our instructors are Albacare employees, ensuring we continually provide a supremely high quality training package. Our instructors are passionate not only about delivering sound and proper training, but also about providing the best standards of care for casualties on event cover. So it only made sense that we became voluntary Community First Responders in our local community of Bathgate, West Lothian. Along with Barry, a committed and highly respected Director for a global construction firm, and two members of the Scottish Ambulance Service, the five of us together set up Bathgate Community First Responders, tasked with responding to emergency 999 calls in our local area. We are continuing to recruit responders, to expanding the area we cover and the number of West Lothian communities we can reach.

3 Day HSE First Aid at Work (FAW)
The HSE 3 day First Aid at Work course is a course that was created specifically for the work place to ensure that major issues and minor ailments are treated alike. All our instructors carry out continual assessments through the use of homework, course participation and final assessment giving the candidate the confidence to become a competent first aider in their work place. Delegates on the course will be given a manual and additional hand outs (including Homework!). At Albacare lunch is provided along with complimentary tea, coffee, fruit and biscuits. The course running time is 9.00am to 4.30pm. This course can also be brought to your location.
Albacare will notify the employer 3 months prior to certificate expiry for existing Albacare certificates.

2 Day HSE First Aid at Work Refresher (FAR)
The HSE 2 day First Aid at Work Refresher/Requalification course is a course that refreshes the candidate on the 3 day syllabus including changes since the previous course. If they complete this course at any point in time during the 3 months immediately prior to the expiry of their current certificate the new certificate will begin on the expiry date of the previous certificate NOT the completion of the requalification course. The same assessment criteria are used as in the 3 day First Aid at Work. Delegates on the course will be given a Manual, additional hand outs. At Albacare lunch is provided along with complimentary tea, coffee, fruit and biscuits. The course running time is 9.00am to 4.30pm. This course can also be brought to your location.

1 Day HSE Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
The HSE 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work course covers a basic understanding of what the HSE define as Emergency First Aid. The assessment of the delegates is carried out by the instructor. Delegates on the course will be given a manual and additional hand outs. At Albacare lunch is provided along with complimentary tea, coffee, fruit and biscuits. The course running time is 9.00am to 4.30pm. This course can also be brought to your location.

SYFA Sports First Aid - 16 hour Course
The course is a 16 hour course with 8 hours in class and 8 hours, pre-course reading online learning. This could be further broken in to section (As long as the course is completed with in 5 weeks) or it can be taken as 2 days in class.

Automated External Defibrillator Training
The 4 Hour Automated External Defibrillation course is essentially split in to 2 parts. The first half concentrates on ensuring that the delegate can perform High Quality Minimally Interrupted Chest Compressions. The second half is geared to the principles relating to Cardiac Arrest and Defibrillation, and how to ensure that the casualty gets absolutely the best chance of survival in extreme and traumatic circumstances. Where possible we will endeavour to use exactly the same training defibrillator the delegates have at their workplace. At Albacare complimentary tea, coffee, fruit and biscuits are provided. The course running time is 9.00am to 1.00pm. This course can also be brought to your location.
